Accurate Buying Guide Long snout pets (Golden Retriever, Labrador, German Shepherd, local mixed breed, Greyhound, etc.) Pets of these types feature slim and narrow snouts. The marked weight range of each size fits them properly. Take Size XL as an example: snout length 8.8 cm, maximum snout circumference 33 cm. Adult long-snout pets weighing 25–40 kg (50–80 lbs) can wear Size XL comfortably. Short & broad snout pets (French Bulldog, English Bulldog, Pug, Shih Tzu, Staffordshire Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier, etc.) These pets have larger heads, plump cheeks and short, thick snouts. Their snout circumference is far wider than long-snout pets of equal weight. Even if your pet only weighs 20 kg (40 lbs), its snout circumference may already hit the 33 cm limit of Size XL. The muzzle will feel tight and uncomfortable. This accounts for why some customers find Size XL too small for pets under 25 kg.
